Efter rapporten offentliggjort af Den Internationale Valutafond (IMF) i april i år, har vi omarrangeret inflationsdataene. Vi præsenterer inflationsraterne for lande over hele verden for året 2018.
Inflation fortæller os, om priserne går op eller ned. Ændringerne i denne indikator giver os således en idé om, hvor meget priserne ændrer sig. Et nært beslægtet koncept er forbrugerprisindekset (CPI).

Så høj inflation er uønsket for et land, da borgerne kan se deres købekraft mindskes. Det vil sige, hvis indkomst ikke vokser mere end inflation, vil vi hver dag have flere penge, men vi vil være i stand til at købe færre ting end før.
Inden vi præsenterer placeringen, skal det dog bemærkes, at selv om CPI og inflation er to tæt forbundne begreber, er de ikke de samme. Da inflation henviser til et meget bredere koncept, og CPI henviser til variationer i priserne på en mere begrænset kurv med varer.
Den følgende placering på inflationen viser ændringer i procent ved periodens udgang ifølge skøn fra Den Internationale Valutafond (IMF). Dataene er bestilt fra højeste til laveste for 2018. Derfor er ovenstående de lande med den højeste inflation for 2018. Vi har dog også besluttet at tilføje de data, der henviser til 2017, da der er lande, hvis data estimeres fra året, der vises i den sidste kolonne (Anslået efter).
Disse data er ikke perfekte, men de kan give os et sammenlignende billede med resten af landene.
Endelig skal det siges, at to lande er ekskluderet (Syrien og Qatar). Begge for ikke at tilbyde data til indikatoren. Afslutningsvis henviser det til ændringen i procent i slutningen af perioden.
